Crimped Wire Wheel

Crimped wire wheels use springy, wave-crimped carbon steel wire that flexes to follow the contour of a workpiece, making them the standard choice for general rust, scale, and paint removal on bench grinders where a stiffer knotted wire wheel would be too aggressive. We stock an 8 in wheel (0.012 in wire, rated to 4500 RPM, with a multi-bushing arbor adapting to 1/2–2 in spindles) and a 10 in wheel (0.016 in wire, rated to 3600 RPM) — the larger diameter and thicker wire giving more aggressive stock removal at the cost of a lower safe maximum speed. Outer diameter, arbor bore, and maximum RPM all have to match your grinder before anything else matters. Built to order at our Yuantan factory cluster, wire gauge and fill density can be configured for your specific surface-prep job.
