Description
A sanding drum brush that interleaves sandpaper flaps with tampico fibre on a plastic core, 270 mm OD with a 30 mm bore. It is used for sanding, polishing and finishing furniture, carved hardwood and plywood, following contours that rigid sanders cannot. Grits from 120 to 400 are offered.
The fibre bundles behind each sandpaper strip push the abrasive into profiles and carvings, so the drum sands mouldings, raised panels and curved parts evenly without flattening detail. Coarser papers suit primary sanding of raw wood; finer papers suit denibbing between lacquer coats. Mount several drums side by side on a shaft to cover wider panels on through-feed sanding machines.
When requesting a quote, send the drum diameter, width and bore, the grit sequence you use, and the make of your sanding machine or shaft layout. Mention whether you want sisal or tampico backing, as stiffer fibre gives more aggressive sanding and softer fibre gives a gentler finish.
