Description

A small stainless steel wire tube brush on a steel handle with a hanging loop, 8 mm in diameter, 100 mm brush length and 300 mm overall. It is used to clean small tubes and to remove fine burrs from machined holes. A size table runs from 8 mm upward with brush lengths of 35–150 mm.

Small-bore brushes like this are sized by the hole: choose a diameter slightly over the bore so the wire stays in contact. Stainless wire is used where carbon steel would leave rust marks, and finer wire gives a smoother finish when deburring cross holes, valve bodies and compressor parts. For a combined cleaning and finishing action, abrasive nylon in grits from 120 to 600 can be specified.

When asking for a quote, give the overall length (AL), brush length (BL), brush diameter (D) or the hole size, whether you want a twisted wire or threaded rod end (S), and the wire material: steel, brass, stainless or synthetic. Drawings or a sample part are the quickest way to confirm the size. The loop end lets brushes hang on a tool board between uses.
