Description

A single-stem, single-spiral tube brush filled with silicon carbide abrasive nylon and fitted with a male thread and jam nut. It is made for aggressive cleaning of brass tubes from 1/2 in to 1-1/4 in inside diameter, handling both soft scale and harder deposits. Standard brushes have a 3 in brush section and 5–6 in overall length; other sizes, widths and threads are made to order.

Spin-grit brushes are run on a tube cleaning machine or drill to scour deposits from condenser and heat exchanger tubes. The abrasive filament cuts scale without the deep scratching of steel wire, which is why it is often chosen for brass and copper tubes. Pick the brush size against the tube bore from the size table, and keep the jam nut tight so the brush does not unscrew in reverse rotation.

For a quote, list the tube inside diameter, tube material, the thread on your cleaning shaft, and quantity per size. Standard sizes cover 1/2 in to 1-1/4 in brushes; other diameters, threads and filament grades can be made if your chiller or condenser uses a different tube size. Many service companies keep a mixed kit of all four standard sizes, so tell us if you want them packed as sets.
