The Elgin Pelican is a three-wheel mechanical (broom) street sweeper with a front high-dump hopper and a chevron-cleat conveyor. A 66 in long, 35 in diameter polypropylene tube broom carries debris onto the conveyor, while one or two 36 in steel-wire gutter brooms on steel discs work the curb line, giving an 8 ft path with one side broom or 10 ft with two.

Main broom choices share the same 66 in length and 8.5 in tube ID: single-wrap, heavy double-wrap, Saver Sweep, a 50/50 poly/wire tube, a refillable strip broom, or a wafer broom on the 1066012 core (the Eagle/Broom Bear wafer core 1035876 is shorter and does not fit). Gutter brooms are the 4-segment style shared with Fury, Megawind and Whirlwind; the one-piece Aggressor cable brooms are the 36 in size. Elgin recommends changing the tube broom when filament is worn to about 7 in and gutter brooms at 5.5-6.5 in. When ordering, confirm whether the unit has one (right) or two side brooms and the serial-number range.
