Description
A flexible perimeter seal for rotary heat exchanger (heat recovery) wheels in air-handling units. BCF yarn bristles sit on a PVC mounting base with a plastic fin through the centre, plus an added sealing film and reinforced adhesive to keep the bristles locked in. The fill includes UV-resistant, anti-aging additives and the strip ships in rolls; dimensions are matched to the wheel housing.
The seal sits around the casing of the heat wheel and limits air bypass between supply and exhaust streams while the wheel turns. The plastic centre fin does most of the air blocking, while the soft yarn tolerates wheel run-out without wearing the rim. Measure the gap between the housing and the wheel at several points, because rotary wheels are rarely perfectly concentric.
For a quote, provide the wheel diameter or perimeter length to be sealed, the gap size, the base width your housing accepts and the number of units. If you are replacing an OEM seal, send a short sample or a cross-section photo so the base and fin height can be matched.
