Description
A static-dissipating strip brush made from conductive carbon fibre, mounted in a 20 x 30 mm aluminium alloy holder. It is used to drain static charge and pick up fine particles in electronics assembly, semiconductor processing, lab equipment and precision instrument cleaning. The listed piece is 1100 mm overall with a 900 mm brush length and 25 mm exposed fibre; other dimensions are built to drawings.
Carbon fibre brushes work by contact or near-contact, giving built-up charge a conductive path to ground, so the holder must be earthed for the brush to work. The 900 mm effective length covers a wide web or conveyor, with the extra holder length used for mounting brackets. A short exposed fibre length keeps the tips precise and limits flicking on delicate boards or films.
